Introducing Annie to my girls

I have a distinct memory of watching Annie at the movie theater with my family when I was 7 or 8 years old.  I absolutely loved everything about it - the song, dance, story, and of course, little Annie.  I remember crying when Annie climbed the steps running away from her fake parents until Punjab appeared on a helicopter and brought her back to safety.  Over 30 years later, I still love Annie and couldn't wait to introduce her to Lauren and Elizabeth.  For my birthday back in October, my mother got us tickets to see Annie.  I selected Sunday, March 3rd because that was the first day I was able to secure front-row seats from the mezzanine so the girls wouldn't have obstructed views by sitting behind a tall person.  The girls enjoyed the show though admittedly, they love any time they spend with mom and dad.  They loved Times Square and E even said she wanted to live in the city as we approached the Midtown Tunnel back to reality.  Tae responded by saying, "Maybe we will one day."

This is how I remember Annie circa 1982.

100th day of Kindergarten

Lauren as a 100-year-old!
Today marks Lauren's 100th day of Kindergarten.  No, I have not been diligently keeping track.  Rather, a note was sent home earlier in the week about this milestone and the teachers requested each child come dressed on Friday, March 1st as a 100-year-old.  Some suggestions included a floral skirt, shawl, or sweater.  Since I didn't have anything suitable, I headed to my fave retailer (and employer!) www.amazon.com and bought a gray wig (yick) and glasses.  I have to say she's pretty darn cute here.  I'm looking forward to hearing about how the class celebrated their 100th day together.  The things schools do these days!
